Weekend Snapshot: Rainy Sunday

21 shared thoughts

rainy day

Yesterday was another rainy day for us ... specially during the afternoon. We went to my MIL's place and had a wonderful time, even if it was raining. That didn't stop me from going outside to the garden to take this shot, though, when the rain abated for a bit. Wish we could do that often. :)

Weekend ...

0 shared thoughts
Last weekend I didn't get to dabble much with the computer since we were kind of busy .... it was one of our scheduled check-ups (yeah, we have one of those every now and then, lol), and then the next day (Sunday) we planned to visit my MIL's place. It wasn't really the best time to travel because if was raining (and we didn't get to bring any rain gear with us!) when we got there. I would have wanted to visit Tagaytay, but there was just so little time available. We only managed to stay in the house. Still, it was a good time to bond with the family! :)

Credit SHOULD Be Given Where Credit is Due

23 shared thoughts
Like what I said in my other blog, I love taking pictures. I just don't like it when others use them (and even crop or do some changes!!) without my permission. So far I have seen two blogs use the shot; the first blogger has acknowledged my ownership ...

I would love to be sharing my shots, but I want credit to be given where credit is due. I could go on and on about this (legal stuffs, property rights, etcetera), but I just want to point out that I respect other person's properties (both online and offline), so I was expecting others to do the same thing.

Anyway, here's the shot: (it's not really amazing, so wondering why it was copied...)
As you can see, the original shot has been cropped (took out my mark).
my coconut shot
Not trying to pick a fight here (in fact, I wasn't even the one who started this, the copying-someone-else's-picture-without-the-owner's-permission thingy, and being asked if I was really the owner! ha.). I just hope that everyone understands my predicament, and why I am posting this. Somehow I was just ticked off when the ownership concern was raised. It was normal to be asking if I really owned the shot, sure, but what really got to me was when she said that she wasn't going to change her Wordless Wednesday post just so "YOU WOULD BE HAPPY".

Oh. My. Goodness. I wasn't trying to make myself happy. I just wanted credit for my picture! I certainly did not ask her to copy my shot, in the first place! What saddens me, is that she seems to be a Pinay, too, like me.

Oh well. Hard Lesson learned, for me. Friendly reminder for everyone who loves taking pictures and don't want their pictures to be used without their permission:

There are other ways, but that's the easiest, I guess. :)

Weekly Questions

Question #5:
What lies ahead for me (and my family) during these tough times? Do we know where we are heading?

Honestly, I don't know where we are heading. Somewhere tolerable and convenient, I hope. Times have always been tough; I have heard people say that years ago. Even while I was really quite young. But you know, we have always managed to survive. I hope that we will still be able to survive even if times seems to be getting tougher.

We just need to have more faith and hope, and try to do more good not only for our family, but also for others. :)

Online Gaming

I know that there are casino sites almost everywhere, but I believe that not all of them are alike. Some people have different choices, and I think that that's good for the business. That means that the sites will have a healthy line of clients. I know some people prefer Slot Machines to any other type of games, and they have their own reasons.

If you are the type who prefer the slot machines, then you should check out SlotsVega.com. They not only offer reviews for different slots sites, but they also have a list of the bonuses being offered on those sites. Interesting, and definitely a good place to visit, if you want to learn more, like me.

An online friend introduced me to online gambling a while back, but I must admit I never really got to playing online using real money. I guess it's because I know that I need to learn some more; plus the fact that I don't have the money for that hobby, yet. Specially now when things are getting more expensive each passing day! Hopefully, when things are more stable, I’d get the chance to save some more; but for now, I have to be content with just browsing through different sites and finding out which would work well for me, or not.

Ever Noticed Those Trade Show Displays?

0 shared thoughts
There seems to be more occasions these days for Trade Show Exhibits, and I think that that's a good thing. It shows that people are more willing to talk business, as well as show prospective clients their products. Definitely a good way to help budding entrepreneurs start their own business. However, just because you have a very promising business idea doesn't mean that it will succeed without lots of thinking. Presentation is important, too. Trade Show Displays these days are more innovative than those being put up around a decade ago.

I have attended some conventions where there are also some trade show displays, and some of them seemed to be lacking something. Sometimes their products aren’t being displayed well, or else they’d have lots of difficulty categorizing their stuffs. If only they have the specific display products for their needs, then the customers would come flocking in towards them.

If you want to see some of the best Trade Show Displays available these days, then try visiting ShopForExhibits.com. They have different designs for your specific needs, from the table top show exhibits, to pop-up fabric show graphics, as well as banners, stands, pedestals, monitor stands, and a whole lot more! You will definitely find the type of display that you know you'll be needing to showcase your product, so check them out now!

Learn From My Experience!

2 shared thoughts
What a way to start your day, huh? Finding your shot being copied by another blogger and when you want that she give you credit ... she gets angry! i've got the hard copy (exif data), if she wants more proof. but is it worth it? hahaha ...

Can't stop blogging about that experience since it's the first time (yup, my first time) I've encountered something like that. I've had my shots copied while I was at a photoblog and the admin intervened, together with the other photobloggers at that site (fotothing.com). It's different with blogspot, though ...

It might take a while before I get this out of my system ... but i guess some people are really like that (blatant disregard for some people's property).

Definitely a painful (and somewhat funny, since she was the one who got angry! LOL) lesson learned, for me.

Oh well.

Reminder for everyone: Place your mark on your shots where it's not easy to erase, or crop! If possible, in the center, if you don't want it to be copied and used by anyone else without your permission.

Just don't tell me i didn't warn you, folks! :D

Finding a Partner Online

0 shared thoughts
I have a cousin who met her husband through one of those Niche Dating Sites online, and I must say they look real happy together! I have nothing against finding your "perfect partner" online, as long as you understand and respect each other. In fact, I have even known some couples who have met online and lived together for many many years in blissful togetherness!

If you're a webmaster and you want to get your site connected to a Dating Affiliate site, then you should check out SingleCash.com. Your site can possibly get the much needed exposure if you sign-up!

No need to hesitate ... check them out now! :)

Lesson Learned

0 shared thoughts
I was just browsing and dropping my EC card earlier today when I noticed that somebody had posted one of my shots at their blog. I was shocked, really. I mean, I thought only one blog "borrowed" it, but it looks like another blog copied the shot.

If you're an avid photo hobbyist like myself, you'll know what it feels like if somebody takes your shot, right? I can prove that I took that shot myself (even if my mark has already been cropped).

I then tried to tell the blog owner to give me the credits to the shot ... but it looked like she got angry! lol. talk about the world going mad! I owned that shot, and she got angry that i wanted credit for it!

Life, huh?!

Sufficient Lighting

0 shared thoughts
We all know how important it is for a place to have sufficient lightning. Having the right type of light will almost always improve the atmosphere of any location, including highways. Or even our homes; there are different lights to choose from, like Hinkley lighting, or something similar. What's really important is that your place is well-lit and safe for you and your family.

Game Flashback

1 shared thoughts
I know that some of you might not be familiar with Atari. That's because it was a game which started way back earlier than the popular game consoles of today. Yup, I guess you could say that Atari started it all. I remember when I was younger, my sister's family invited us over for dinner. There were kids there, and I noticed them playing something on their television. That certainly got a lot of kid's attention; it was kind of like a tennis match, but of course, different. Still, it was new at that time, and it got our interest. Pretty soon a few other families got the game console, too. Not my family, though, since my father isn't really a video/television fan. I just enjoyed playing in my friend's houses. Too bad they have been left behind after that big hit some years back.

But do you know that there's an Atari Flashback product being offered right now? I know that some might still be interested, and it has all the Classic Games installed, too! It will surely bring back those happy memories for most of us! :)

Poker Bonus

0 shared thoughts
Gambling these days are now more accessible to players than before. I mean, before internet was readily available people would only play gambling with real-life partners or gamers. But now that internet is here, well, you can play online almost anytime of the day! It doesn't matter what day of the week it is, too! And the best part: you can play right at the comforts of your own home (or wherever you want to be, as long as internet connection is available)! Pretty convenient, huh?

If you want ot find a site that deals mostly with poker bonuses, then you should check out EasypokerBonuses.com, where you can get Cake Poker Bonus Code, among other benefits! You can also find links to different poker sites as well as the latest news when it comes to poker.

Personally, I have never tried online gambling; that's because I know I am not that knowledgeable about the different games, yet. I think the games are interesting, though I know I wouldn't be using real money to do the betting. Not just yet, anyway.

Hopefully, when I’ve researched more about the subject, I will have the courage to do some online playing! After I’ve saved enough for the hobby, of course. ;P

Online (and Offline) Bathroom Products

0 shared thoughts
Undoubtedly, there's a room in the house which is utilized by all family members, including visitors. If you thought the bedroom, well, you could be right, but there's another room too ... the bathroom! Having a good and clean bathroom in the house is important for most families (including myself), and that's why I try to keep our bathroom in top form. It need not have the latest in fashion, of course. In fact, I prefer bathrooms with less clutter but have more functional accessories. It should be easier to maintain, too!

Bathrooms these days need not be dark and foreboding (and smelly, most probably) since there are now lots of bathroom products available. In fact, at BeeterBathrooms.com you can find lots of different stuffs, like elegant bathroom taps or an assortment of shower models. They are also offering bathroom suite packages for those with discriminating tastes, with a wide choice of bath styles; you can visit not only their online site but also their bathroom showroom in Wigan, Lancashire, UK!

So, if you're looking something for your bathroom and you can't seem to find it at your local store, then try browsing over at BetterBathroom.com and chances are, you'll find it there! :)

Win a blogger template!

2 shared thoughts
I've had this blogger template for about half a year now, but am seriously considering changing it. However, I haven't found one yet that I really like. It's a good thing I've stumbled up Grumpy Cow, a site where you can find great blogger templates!
The templates found at the site are simply wonderful, in my honest opinion. I just love the digiscrapped effect on her header (I wish I could make something as awesome as that, and incorporate that into my template!). She's hosting a contest right now, where you can win a blog template among the ones she has for sale. Isn't that just great?

The contest will run for a week and the winner will be announced on Sunday, June 29th.

I hope I will be the winner .. I hope I will be the winner .. I hope I will be the winner! :P

Fuzzy Find

When hubby and I arrived after we dropped off our son to school, I was surprised to find a garden visitor! We've been seeing this kitty around our place, and we're assuming it's a stray cat, or somebody's pet. We have seen our neighbors feed similarly colored stray cats, so there's a possibility that this kitty's one of those ... :)

My camera had a hard time focusing on the kitty ... that's why I opted to focus on the leaves instead. LOL.

Online Gaming

Just around two nights ago, I was surfing the television channels for something to watch, and I happened to stop at a channel where some celebrities were playing poker. I was definitely interested, but still I had a hard time figuring out what they were doing, and how the game was being played. I am familiar with some of the moves, but not all of them. If you're like me, but would like to learn more about playing poker, then I suggest you check out some of the Online Poker Games available! Some sites would even teach you how the game is being played, and I think that's really great. They will teach you the basics of poker rules, as well as the ranking of poker hands. Definitely something that I should know about, if I want to learn more about this interesting game! One of the sites that you should visit would be PlayRealPokerOnline.com, where you can get lots of information, including the latest news and headlines when it comes to online poker. They also have great links to different sites, some of which you might want to visit.

When I've got more time to browse the internet, am so sure that I'll be visiting them. Soon! :)

Exciting Career

0 shared thoughts
Are you at that stage in your life where you want to switch careers (and have the luxury of time to do that) or just starting to think of an exciting career where you get paid to travel? Well, those are just some of the perks of having a flight attendant career, so if you want to go in that direction, then you should definitely start thinking of getting into a flight attendant school!

International Air and Hospitality Academy is one such school that can help you achieve your dream. They can not only equip you with the knowledge of how to be an excellent flight attendant, but they will also help you with jobs and interviews. Isn't that great? You won't be left alone after you finish the course, like most schools. Having that kind of support is not available in most establishments, so if you do want to become a flight attendant I suggest you check them out over at AHA.edu. Or if you want, you can check out this flight attendant blog and have a view at a flight attendant's life. :)

Tomatoes from my sister-in-law's garden. This was taken a few weekends ago when we got to visit them. Since they have lots of space in their place she has started planting vegetables and fruits around their home. I think it's really neat, and fun! :)

Wish I could do that here in the city, too ...

Took this shot when we went to Pampanga (Philippines)... not too sure what place this is, though. I just liked the space and the blue sky.

Actually we went there because we wanted to see some "birds", and we did, though we didn't get to the actual site since the road was being repaired. We just marveled at the birds who happened to be passing by ... going about their own ways. Will post some pictures in the succeeding entries; still have to transfer some of them to my computer. lol.

Building A Good Email Marketing Campaign

Rained so hard last night ... or maybe it was just the wind? We could hear the wind "howling" outside, till morning. My son, when he woke up, asked what the sound was, and he thought that somebody was doing something to their house outside (like maybe sawing wood, or something). lol. Good thing he wasn't scared, just curious. :)

Now the rain is slowing down a bit; no more strong winds. I guess the typhoon's slowly leaving our place.

Almost forgot the name of this flower ... good thing I have my trusty "Tropical Flowers" book around! lol. Took this shot at my MIL's garden, and I think they are really interesting.

Do you know that they can be made into tea? Don't know anybody who has tried that, yet, but I was given by my Thai friend the recipe a while back. Am not so sure, but I think it called for the white variety. Not really sure since it has been eons ago (meaning, can't remember when she sent it! LOL). Still, they make a nice addition to one's garden. Word of caution, though ... they need lots of space!

We all know that these days shopping online, or just paying for anything online (like your bills) is already quite common because of internet availability. I believe that that's a good thing, but like everyday transactions, there is a chance that your credit card or bank account number might be hacked. Those are just some of the concerns being voiced out when it comes to online transactions, and most of us believe that it's just right that consumers get concerned.

My brother-in-law's credit card was hacked into when he got back from abroad, and you can just imagine the shock that went through the family when they received the bill! The amount was quite huge, and the sad thing was that the area where the purchases were made was quite near our city! That meant the person who used it most probably was of the same nationality as us! I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone, so it's always a good idea to take precautions, and this is where ShopShield.net can help!

Weekly Questions (#3 and #4)

2 shared thoughts
.... so sorry, my number three is already a week late ... but it's better late than never, diba T. Julie? :)

#3: What were your favorite books as a child, specifically in your elementary school years?

Oh my ... I had lots of books when I was young. My sisters who started studying far from home during their college days used to send us "gifts" every now and then, and they were mostly books. They knew that I loved animals so the ones that they sent were stories mostly about dogs, horses, and even a mice, or two. lol. But they also sent us fantasy books with knights, dragons and fairy stories. I just loved those! :)

#4: What valuable lessons have you learned from your father?

My father ... I must say, he is my idol! :)

I have learned a lot from him and one of the most important lesson that I learned from him is to live within my means; he was a cashier in one of the banks at home, and I guess he knows the value of money. He doesn't like spending, unless it's really necessary, or if it's for the business. I guess he has accumulated a lot since he has successfully sent all of his nine children (yeah, we are quite a bunch, aren't we? lol) through college (with my mom's help, of course, since she also worked at the bank as a clerk), and has even managed to buy some lands/properties (which he leased at first, then sold after around twenty years) as well as a few others where he has had rice and sugarcane planted.

He was a workaholic, too ... but he wasn't stingy with his time when it comes to his family. In fact, he always encouraged us to go with him when he visits the farm, or sometimes he'd be the first to suggest we go on vacations. He loves traveling, that's why. Bringing along nine kids could be a chore sometimes, though; like the one time when we went to Cebu, or to Bicol. Or the most "recent" one, when we all went to Baguio (together with our respective families and their grandchildren!). But we all had fun! :)

Another lesson that I learned from him (and from my mom, too), is to trust in the Lord. Both of them are quite religious and they have always attended the early morning mass. It helps that the church is just a couple of meters away from home, I guess, since they are already getting old. Still, they have such a deep faith that I really admire them for it. :)

Looks like photobucket's up again ... well, in blogger, i mean. They were ok on my other site. Really wonder why ... the pictures from other sites in blogger were gone this morning, too. This is really going to be quite inconvenient. I guess I should start looking around for a new photo site where I can "deposit" my pictures for my blogs. Sure, blogger has picasa webshots, but ... I don't like the way they resize my shots. Besides, they have a quota, too .. dunno what will happen if you get over your quota. I do use it sometimes, though. But for really short files only. :)

Investing in Silver

0 shared thoughts
Have you ever thought of investing in silver? They say that the demand for silver is now more than the annual production so investing in silver is probably a good idea. Silver is available in coins or ingot (pure silver in bar or blocked form for convenient storage or shipment) where they can be stored in independent banks or depository.

If you have thought of investing, then the Monex Deposit Company can help you! You can buy silver as well as other precious metals from the company and then have it delivered to the place of your own choosing. Being over thirty years in business, you can be sure that their people are committed to serving you professionally, as well as help you when it comes to investing in precious metals.

Josh Groban and Charlotte Church (video)

Heard this song the first time a friend sent me Josh Groban's cd. He was still relatively new, then. I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I finished the album I was in awe. Such a gorgeous voice!

I've had some of his albums since then (even uploaded some of the songs into my ipod), and they remain among my favorites.

I like this duet ... speaks volumes! :)

It looks like photobucket isn't working with blogger. Don't know why. Now my WW post is nowhere to be found. Only the picture, of course. lol. Photobucket seems to be working with my other site, but not here with blogger. No idea what the issues are; but I really hope that it will be ok soon!

Thinking of switching to imageshack.us for most of my pictures ... though am so used to photobucket right now. They have spoiled me! LOL. :D

Gift Baskets Online

0 shared thoughts
If you work for a big company, then chances are you are familiar with corporate gifts . My husband is currently employed in a multi-national company, and since he is also a part of their sales force unit, he sometimes has to ask around looking for good deals when they do decide to give corporate gifts to their clients. Some clients sort of "demand" what they want, though, so most of the time they have to be ready. At times it can be quite expensive (like maybe free airline tickets going abroad or locally), and am not so sure what they tell their clients if it's not possible. Of course, the client can demand, as long as it's feasible. :)

There are some sites that offer corporate gifts and one of them is GiftTree.com. They not only offer corporate gifts, but also personalized gift items, wine gift baskets, and one of their best sellers, the Golden Gourmet Gift Basket. It's really quite an interesting site where you can send gifts with a personal touch.

So, if you ever need to give that special someone a gift basket, go visit GiftTree.com!

I wish we can improve it, like maybe install some vinyl siding, but that's going to cost us. It would be nice getting our dream house, and somehow hubby and I are slowly trying to save money for that. We haven't chosen andy definite place yet, but we know that someday it will come true. :)

Gambling and Uncles

0 shared thoughts
Ever since I was small, I have seen some of the "oldies" play cards and have fun while being together. Sometimes they looked so serious, though, that everyone seems to be frowning and being so quiet. This wasn't an everyday situation, though, so they all were enjoying the time being together; and of course, playing cards helped with the bonding. Those "oldies" were mostly my uncles, from both sides of the family. They just loved playing cards (and gambling little things) whenever there was an occasion for the family to get together. Am not so sure, but I guess that's more or less the same when it comes to online casinos, too.

Some people find it enjoyable, gambling not only offline, but also online. But of course, you don't actually know who you're up against, if you're online. You don't see your opponent, so it is different from playing with someone right in front of you! That's why it's important that you know and trust the site; finding the Best Online Casinos can be daunting, specially if you're a newbie. It's a good thing there's GambleCraft.com, a site where you can go if you want to know more about online casinos and what's the latest news when it concerns internet gambling.

4 o'clock flower
Flower around our place .... last weekend wasn't feeling too well; took shots only around our house. Would have wanted to really go out somewhere nice (like a park, maybe ...) and take pictures, but I felt that I had to rest. Wasn't even able to dabble much with my other blog...

Hopefully, will be feeling much much better soon!
Thanks to all that has been dropping their EC here ... will be dropping by your place in a bit. :)
Really appreciate it!

Wish those dust away ....

0 shared thoughts
As a stay at home mom, I guess most people expect that I clean the house daily, do the laundry, and of course, cook. Sad to say, I am not really your typical housewife. Sure, stay at home and clean whenever I can, but that's just about it. I really do admire those women who can manage the household chores as well as take care of the little kids. When my son was younger, we were fortunate to be having a helper around the house, but when we moved to the city our helper had to leave because of family reasons (her ailing mom needed her at home). That meant that I was left to do the household chores, which wasn't really a very pleasant thought. So now the house is as dusty as ever, though I do wipe the dust off every now and then. I just wish I have one of those Dirt Devil to help me with the job! Am sure cleaning would be a breeze, and it even uses less energy than other vacuum cleaners, earning for itself an Energy Star !

Now if I only have one of those, huh?! Am sure if you're anything like me you'd wish you have one of those, too! Together, let's ask our fairy godmothers for one! :)

Watermelons

Chanced upon this stall while we were on our way home. We went on a trip with my family and my sister decided to buy some of these along the road. No idea, really if they are cheaper than in the malls, but we still decided to buy anyway.

We don't usually buy this type of watermelons since we prefer the other variety. I think the other variety (darker type) is much more sweeter; though I think they also get overripe quite easily.

Cellular Therapy

0 shared thoughts
This is something new for me; not the cellular therapy, but the thought that a woman's menstrual fluid during the monthly cycle can be utilized, and has even self-renewing stem cells! Through the stem cells, these can be cryo-preserved and stored for future us, like in cellular therapy. This is a highly scientific topic, but the bottom line is that you can preserve them so that you may be able to use them when the time comes.
The process of collection is important, though, and it's a good thing that Celle.com has provided a kit for that. With the kit, you can have your cells preserved for future use. If you want to know All About C'elle, then do visit their site. It is really quite an informative site and one that would most probably interest all women because it is something that we can do, for ourselves. If you want, you can even Become C'elle Distributor so that other women will also know about this specific advance in technology.

So what are you waiting for? Do visit their site, get acquainted with the technology and it's processes, and get a Celle Order Now!

Sunglasses for Summer

0 shared thoughts
It's that time of year when sunglasses are definitely the "in" thing! Well, it is aways summer in some countries, but when it gets to be summer in temperate countries the sales of sunglasses can reach to soaring heights! That's also a great time to be selling them. Of course, if you plan to sell Wholesale Replica Sunglasses, you have to know if they are legitimate, or not. It helps a lot if you look at the company first before investing in them, and if you do decide to sell replica sunglasses, you have to make sure that you're getting your supply from a legitimate source.

There are differences in selling replica sunglasses to illegal sunglasses, so you must be sure you're not the one who's being taken in! This issue shouldn't stop you from selling sunglasses, though. In fact, it should help you while starting your summer business! Just make sure that you read all the details regarding the business and know that you're not breaking any rules.

So go ahead, see if the business idea interests you and if you want, just give it a try! :)

Situations ...

Last week while I was transferring my other site to another webhost, something happened that made it go "crazy". I felt like something of me was erased and believe me, it wasn't such a nice feeling. I love maintaining that blog and after seeing it "disappear" (and to top it all I didn't save it!!! ugh! I should have known!!) I felt completely helpless!! It's back now, more or less. I guess that's what some people with financial problems would feel, too, if they were given a depressing view of their current situation. However, debt consolidation hurt is not something that has to be taken lightly; specially if you have a family to support. So it's always a good idea to back up everything, and when it comes to money matters, make sure that you don't overspend! :)

Champorado
*Happy Meal*
That's what we call champorado (rice cooked with the local "tableya" or chocolate made from cocoa seeds, together with sugar); it's also called sweet chocolate rice porridge, usually eaten during breakfast or as a snack. Some people use sticky rice to cook this, but my family and I don't. We use the "usual" white rice and then add in the "tableya" (hence the brown color) and sugar. Usually milk is added (like above) and I just made it into a smiley face so that my son would enjoy his breakfast more! :)

Need help with Health Insurance?

0 shared thoughts
These days it's really important that we don't get sick. It will not only take our time away from our job (or daily routine), but also quality time for our family. Of course, if you are sick at home, then you'd be with your family, but you won't all be having fun because you're sick. I bet you'd just be on your bed, feeling miserable! Another thing that you should also consider if you get sick is that you will need money to buy medicine, or pay the doctor's fees. It's a good thing there are sites that can help you with Health Insurance, and EHealthHelp.com is one of them. Whether you are just looking around to get good health insurance or maybe someone to ask about your claim, they can help you. Definitely a great site to visit when it comes to health insurance topics.

I remember when my sister got pregnant a while back; she sure saved a lot with her monthly appointments, using her husband's health insurance (his family was also included in the package), so they were really relieved. They had the opportunity to save money for when the baby arrives, and the good news is that they even managed to save more than they expected! :)

Keeping and Staying Safe

0 shared thoughts
Security is an important factor for all of us, and that's why sometimes some people would go to extra lengths just so they'd be sure that they are safe. There are some "gadgets" and house devices that would help us feel safe as we sleep at night, and it could be something as simple as a locked door and windows, or maybe a fence! It would be an added bonus if the device is made to look like it's really part of the house, like the custom fences central MA being made by MorrisonFenceCo.com. They are the professionals to look for when you want good service and quick installation of fences. They offer different fence types, from wood fencing to aluminum and automatic gates. Not only that, their fences are guaranteed to be of the best quality and if repairs are needed, they are the ones that you should call, too!

I know that sometimes having just a fence would not be enough to deter people who are bent on invading your property. But still it's a good thing to have since it will indeed stop some people (or animals) from stepping inside someone's private land. But fences are also meant to keep people safe, too. Like if you don't want some people wandering around highly charged areas, or a testing ground for some weapons or other products. There are lots of reasons why a fence is needed. Safety is the main reason, though, and as responsible individuals we should know what to do when we see a fence in front of us!

Fences (and gates) need maintenance, though, and if you want to keep your fence for a very long time, then you should make sure that you take the proper steps. Expert fence makers would be able to give you the best advice that you'll need, so make sure you keep in contact with them!

Unlucky Day??!!

Yesterday (yeah, its already past 1 AM here in my side of the earth) was Friday the thirteenth, and I guess it was quite an unlucky day for me. My other blog, which needed to be transferred to another webhost, got all so muddled! The "error no database connection" kept cropping up! You couldn't see my site anywhere!

It's a good thing that there are still some angels here on earth, huh? Thanks a whole lot for the help, pretty_dzo! :)

update: my other site's not that ok yet ... but at least the posts are already there! yipee! :D

Finding "The One"

0 shared thoughts
I think it's universal that most people would rather live with another person (or persons), rather than live alone. There are some exceptions, of course (like the hermits), who really prefer living away from most communities, but they are quite few. Most people would rather live within a community since it has it's perks, too. I mean, there are all the malls and other worldly comforts; there are churches, schools, and hospitals, filled with people having the same need to communicate with others, like you (and me). Definitely a great place to make friends!

However, not everyone is quite comfortable with the thought of meeting others or learning how to make new friends, specially if you're the shy type. Some would get sweaty and instead of saying things normally, would end up stuttering! That's normal for some people, of course. It's a good thing there are online sites where you can meet other same-minded individuals, like Perfect Match, Friend Finder, and Yahoo Personals; with their immense database, you're more likely to meet more individuals than you possibly can in one day! But don't let that thought intimidate you. Since somewhere out there is that perfect "one" for you, if you haven't found him (or her), yet! :)

They were trying to construct a road ... across some rice fields. The weather was nice. I liked the sky that day; it seemed so dramatic and felt like the wind was blowing. I never did know if there was a strong wind blowing that time, since I took this shot while I was in a moving vehicle. :)

Finding Gadgets and Phones Online

1 shared thoughts
I think that there's always a new phone being made and sold to eager customers almost every month, and I must admit that I can't blame them (the customers). The phones being sold these days are so different from the old ones, in terms of upgraded features. Like, the old phonecams used to have low resolution cameras, while now I found out that some phones are already equipped with 5MP cameras! Isn't that amazing! It even surpassed my first digital camera! You can find different phone brands and styles over at Tiga Dua Cellular, including the latest one, the Apple iPhone.
Over at Tiga Dua Cellular, finding the phone that you want is so easy, no need to click lots of buttons just so you'd find the one that you need. Provided, of course, that you're not looking for the obsolete phones! Their phones and gadgets are cheaper than other sellers since they don't actually maintain a store for their wares; and that spells lesser maintenance cost for everyone!

So, thinking of getting that ideal gadget that you know you need? Then don't hesitate, visit Tiga Dua Cellular right now! :)

Higher and Better

0 shared thoughts
The gadgets these days now need higher memory cards compared to the previous years. I guess it's because of the advanced technology inside them which would also of course require more space to run. It's a good thing that the memory cards are getting less expensive these days, too. I mean, during the older days getting a 1GB card was so expensive only a few dedicated hobbyists really would go for it. But now, it's the norm! :)

Did a bit of playing with this shot, using photoshop. That's one of the flowers that can be seen at my sister's garden and it seems to be thriving, too, together with the plumbago. No idea what this one's called though ... but the leaves of this flower are shaped like "butterflies".

Trying to achieve an "aged" look here ... not sure if I achieved the effect! LOL.

Safety Online

0 shared thoughts
Have you ever tried shopping online? It need not be a big amount, but the point is that you tried buying something online and your credit/debit card could have been at risk with the hackers. I have read some reports about client's accounts getting hacked, and I guess if you're an internet geek it might be easy. However, that's really illegal and something that shouldn't be done. It's a good thing that you can now be protected from internet fraud through Shop Shield! Your credit card numbers, or your bank accounts as well as your email address will be protected by the program which is patterned after the Department of Defense security standards. Now isn't that awesome? That could spell a hundred percent guarantee that your information will be secure and safe.
Shopshield
I occasionally buy some stuffs online, and sometimes I worry about the numbers that I input via the internet while using my credit card. I do feel that it is risky; however, I do need that stuff, too, so I just get on with it. I know that I should be more cautious, and that's why I am surfing the internet, trying to find other means of transacting business online, safely. It's always a good idea to do business in a safe and secure manner, so if I find a site that works for me, then I know that I'll be using that for good. If you're like me, then we should Learn More about Shop Shield! We should Visit Shop Shield® right now! :)

This flower seems to be flourishing at my sister's garden ... or maybe it's because they usually do flower at this time of the year. The first time I saw this type of flower I was really impressed because of the color ... then I noticed that there are other flowers near our place that has the same color, too! lol. Some of them are almost tree-like, though ... while this one looks like a small shrub. :)

Online games, and more...

0 shared thoughts
Have you ever tried playing online poker? I haven't, but I know a friend who enjoys playing poker online. Actually, he was the one who introduced me to the idea, when I asked him about online games. He says that he has been making a profit out of it, but not that much, since he still considers himself a newbie in that area. However, he can't help but be encouraged every time he makes money!

He told me about FlopTurnRiver.com, a site where you can get Full Tilt Poker referral code as well as Full Tilt Bonus. Not only that, you can get Poker Stars Bonus Code at that site, too! Definitely a great way to keep you motivated in playing the game. Of course, their site also features some tips on how to get started (for beginners) and they have also recommended some sites that you should visit if you want to learn more about the game. Wonderful resource site for newbies like me. :)

It rained last night

0 shared thoughts
Yesterday was kind of weird ... it rained. Real hard! It was nice, I guess, except for the fact that we had an invasion of the cockroaches, too! It was really icky, seeing all those creepy creatures coming out of the drainage located behind the house. Mostly small ones, though, but still kind of creepy! Some did manage to go inside the house, and I had a hard time trying to be vigilant.

Wonder what caused all that last night ... is it because there's an ongoing water-pipe work going on nearby? Oh well...I just hope it won't happen again! My bug spray's all used up ... need to go to the nearest store to get another one!

Trendy and Efficient

I know somebody who would love to have this amazing and trendy new strider stroller: myself! lol. I just like the description that I read about this product, since it seems to answer most of the things that a mom would want in a stroller: flexibility, lightness, compact design, reversible handles (so that you can look at baby, too) and the option to add a car seat adaptor! This latest offer from Mutsy would certainly be a good thing for moms with young tots out there!
Mutsy
I used to own a stroller when my son was small, but I never did get to use it much since it was so bulky. I guess I'd rather carry my son (or let hubby do the carrying) everytime we go out, rather than bring another bulky "thing" with us! But now that there's this trendy and sohphisticated stroller available, I'm sure I'd want to try it out! For those who'd love to buy one, just use the discount code mutsy10off and you'll get 10% off! So cool! :)

Soooo HOT!

1 shared thoughts
These days it's really been so hot that it's making me irritable! Am trying so hard not to get easily irritated, but still ...!! It's a good thing that our electric fan is still up and running, after all the "abuse" it's been getting (it is rarely turned off these days!).

That's why sometimes it's much better killing time at a mall or at a coffee shop, rather than staying at home! lol. :D

Finding Deals

0 shared thoughts
It's almost that time of year again: Father's Day! My family and I normally don't splurge much since hubby says that it's not necessary, but I would love to be able to surprise him this time. That means looking for some great discount deals for personalized Father's Day gifts!

I've got loads of ideas to choose from, and I think that since he loves drinking his coffee so much every day, I'd give him some of that! Of course, that's just one of the choices since I know he's been wanting to get those pair of shoes which we found at the mall two weeks ago. It's quite expensive, but am sure it's going to be very much worth it! :)

As for me and my camera, I am trying to find some good lenses to go with the kit that I got two months ago. I am not that particularly satisfied with the lens that went with the kit, but it's definitely better than nothing! I would love to be getting myself a pair of telephoto as well as a macro lens!

Dreaming, but I know that these are all possible ... one of these days. I just have to think positive and I know that hubby's Father's Day celebration will be one of those days that he'll never forget! :)

Sharing the Love

5 shared thoughts
I received this very special award Sharing the Love from Liza of A Simple Life. Thanks, sis! :)

This award is extra special because Crystal created it in honor of the donor who saved her sons life. Her son Noah had to have a heart transplant when he was just over a month old. This award is supposed to help raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.

So, here are the rules Crystal gave:

“The rules of this award are: SHARE THE LOVE!!! Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**

As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??

So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life. I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place.

I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.”

I’m passing this award to the following:

Mousey, She, Emila and Strider

Classes started yesterday, and that's one of the reasons why I haven't been able to blog as much as I like, within the past three days ... lol. We had to get ready some of my son's school stuffs, as well as hubby's trip for today (another business trip).

So now, everyone's gone except form myself, and I have the time to do some blogging again! Of course, in a bit I need to do the laundry ... :)

Cousin's Planned Trip

0 shared thoughts
Summer is almost over for most of us here, but there are still places around the world who still have to experience summer this year. I wish summer's still here, but time doesn't stop for anyone (or anything), so I hope that anyone who's got the time and resources to go on a vacation one of these days do try their best to try and take some time off for themselves.

There are different places to go to this summer, and one of them would be Florida. I know a cousin would love to visit the place, but since she's quite far from there, she needs to rent a car in tampa, if she do decides to choose that place for her vacation. It's been almost two years since she's been on a holiday from work (she did tell me she loves her work, almost a year ago), and now it's her boss who's telling her to go out and have some fun while she's still young! I know some would gladly jump at the chance, but I believe she's quite hesitant since I know she'd rather spend her off-time with her aging mom. Her brothers and sisters already have families of their own and live quite far from them, so visits are rare.

Whatever her decision, I know she'll still have the time of her life, and I hope that she can get her mom to go with her, too! :)

I have never ever been inside a casino before, since I'm not sure what I'd do inside, without any sufficient money. It's a good thing it's not the same when it comes to Casinos Online since I can visit different sites without even spending a cent! That's doesn't mean I visit the sites just so I can play, though. Some sites also offer strategy tips as well as site reviews, so if you're new into online casinos like me, then sites like GambleCraft.com is definitely one of those sites that you should visit!

I was first introduced to online casinos when a friend told me how much fun they were. Being cautious, I told him that I have read some not-so-good reports about them, but he said that it's not really the casino's fault, but the person playing. I guess that's true, since if the person had the discipline in the first place to stop when he needed to, he wouldn't have landed in a precarious situation. So I was really glad that my friend told me to be always "on guard" when playing and when it feels like the odds are stacked against me, then I should stop. Really appreciate his advices, specially that one! :)

Independence Day ~ Philippines

Yesterday was a holiday because the country's Independence Day (June 12) was "moved" to a Monday. It gave our family a chance to go out and do some more grocery shopping. lol. Saw some people trying to sell some flags ... like this kid. It's a good way to earn money; it might be hard work, but at least that's a million times better than stealing or begging! :)

Bag "Incident"

When my family and I were looking for a new computer bag (I must admit I didn't like the free one that came with my computer; it was all black and looked oh-so-serious! lol), we passed and found some aluminum-type bags that looked like they were a familiar brand like the Rimowa. My son kept touching them and saying they'd be perfect as his school bag! Hubby and I laughed, telling him maybe he can have them when he's older. :)

Caterpillar ...

caterpillarCaterpillar I found a few days ago in one of our calamansi (citrus) plants. I was worried that this caterpillar won't be able to reach adult size since this plant was still small. After a few days all the leaves were gone!!!

Know what we did? We transferred the caterpillar (it was bigger now) to another much older calamansi plant! It resisted at first (I smelled something icky when it "protested") but we had to do it so that it will have a bigger chance of surviving. This type of caterpillars seem to really prefer the calamansi plant ... wonder what would happen if ever the calamansi plant in our place is no longer "popular"! What a horrifying thought!

Where's Mary? Now, you must be wondering why I've placed a picture above of Mary McCormack? That's because she's got the lead role as Mary Shannon in USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight. That gorgeous gal who has been in quite a number of movies and television shows (she was a recurrent character at "E.R.", and she was also with Howard Stern in "Private Parts") plays the role of a US Marshall who is linked to a highly secretive witness protection program. She can't tell her family (as well as a few friends and colleagues) about that and that's part of what makes the story tick. Drama, action, a hint of humor here and there, and lots more!

The show started last June 1st, so if you want to know more, go watch the show now! :)

Or maybe I'd just go to the mall and do a bit of shopping. LOL.

Have you ever gambled in your whole life? I'm sure you must have had, even if it didn't involve money. I know I have, with most of the decisions that I have had to make, and that's how I have arrived at where I am today. Some gambling decisions I could have changed for the better, but at that time I didn't know any better. I mean, I wasn't sure of the result, and it wasn't really what I expected. But still, those decisions made a much stronger person and I guess that that's the best part. :)

However, gambling doesn't have to be totally "intuitive" these days, like poker. It helps that you have a strategy, too. It's a good thing there are sites right now that offer tips and link sites to reliable Online Poker Rooms, like PokerMonger.com. The site is not only for newbies like me, but also for other players, from intermediate to advanced players. What I like best about the site, though, is their step-by-step guide to playing online poker, and it is really quite informative! If you're a newbie like me, and wants to know the basics, then you should read their guide, too! So go ahead, check them out! :)

Melting Ice Cream

Melting Mango Ice Cream

That's the mango ice cream which I had around two hours ago ... the one that I mentioned three posts before this one. :D

Would you believe I almost ate the contents of one pint? Had to stop, though, since I had to share some of them with my son. He was the one who ate all of what was left inside the container. hahaha.

So hot today .... I should have done the laundry! :D

Poker Strategies

Would you like to be playing poker? I know I would, if I just know the basics! I don't really have much time to be visiting all the sites out there that could help me with the skills to learn poker, but I know that BasicTexasHoldem is one such site that can help. They have these strategies that can help you with your game if you're really willing to learn and win. Their site also have links to different gaming sites as well as a list of their favorite sites. So convenient!

I have nothing against people playing online (or offline) casinos (since I believe that anyone's entitled to some fun), but for me the most important thing to remember when you do play the game (aside from the excitement!) is to be disciplined. Play when you know that you can, and stop when you need to. I have read/watched some people playing prematurely and ended up losing every penny that they got, so for me that's really a big deal. With gambling, you can win big, but you can lose big, too. Just use your head when you do start playing.

I can't say I'll be as disciplined as an online friend who enjoys gambling, when I do start playing online using real money, but I sure do hope that I will be! :)

I am not really overly fond of betting, or gambling, but I do enjoy a good game every now and then. I have seen lots of Online Casino sites while browsing through the internet, but I must admit I don't visit all of the sites that I encounter. Most of the sites I do visit when it comes to online casinos are the ones that have reviews over at their site, or some tips to help me with the games. BJStats.com is one such site that can help any newbies out there that wants to know more about blackjack. I must admit I don't know much about it, so that's why this site is important for me. They not only have reviews, but they also offer tips and links to safe sites. A great resource site for sure!

I'm not ready to be betting real money online, though I do enjoy some of the games being offered. There are some sites which offer free play, and that's where I do some practicing. Only when I have the available time do I really browse the internet for some games, and then that's it. I play just for the fun of it! No actual betting for me, yet. lol.

I can never forget the most important advice an online gamer told me: when you know that you're losing more than you can afford, then STOP! I believe that that's a very good advice and it should be followed by all those who enjoy the game! :)

So Hot!

Been so hot today, so when my sister and niece had to go to out to do some errands I asked that they get me a pint of ice cream! lol. Which they did, of course. Know what flavor they got for me? Mango. Hahaha, typical. I mean, I wanted strawberries, or maybe blueberry ice cream but it looks like it was the only flavor available there. Will post the picture in a bit (of course I took a shot! lol).

I guess I'm not the only one craving for ice cream during days like this! :)

Anime in Theaters

I have always been a fan of manga for some time now. In fact, my family and I have even bought some DVD copies of some of our favorites! That's why I'm excited about the the idea of a manga that's going to be shown in select US theaters this June 11-12th: Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody. I have heard of this manga before, but haven't had the chance to actually follow it. It would be great seeing the movie!

If I were given the chance to give myself a name based on an anime, then I guess I would want it to mean "The One". I know, it's not an original, but that's the one that I like! LOL. I have no idea how to say that in Japanese, though ... maybe someone out there can tell me? :)
